Who We Are

Morgan Steel is a metal service center and contract manufacturer with locations in Memphis, TN and Greenville, TX. We offer steel distribution, processing, and delivery via an in-house fleet across the country. The industries we supply include OEMs, steel service centers, fabricators, agriculture, material handling, and more.

Morgan Steel was founded in February 2014 with a 45,000-square-foot warehouse. We began with less than twenty employees, five trucks, one shear, two saws, and a vision. We have grown to a team of almost 200 people and still hold the values that made us successful from the beginning. We believe building relationships will allow us to provide the best value, service, and quality.

We now offer massive processing capabilities and distribute over 400 tons of steel daily with our ever-growing fleet of trucks. We are continually investing in growth to maintain short lead times and the flexibility needed to adapt to the new ways that customers are coming to the market. We exist because of the people who got us here - our suppliers, families, team members, and customers.

How We Made It

Feb 2014

Scott and Chris Morgan founded Morgan Steel with a team of 18 employees, a small office, 45,000 square foot warehouse, 5 trucks, 2 saws, 1 shear, and a ton of optimism.
Feb 2016

After growing steadily for the first two years, Morgan Steel acquired a 5,000 square foot warehouse and larger office building.
Oct 2017

Morgan Steel moved into a new 45,000 square foot warehouse. At this time, Morgan Steel had 3 warehouses, 20 trucks, 6 saws, 2 shears, an iron worker, press brake, and more than 100 employees. The company delivered more than 300 tons of steel per night.
March 2018

A Mazak Optiplex 4020 Fiber II laser and a Messer 10 foot x 42 foot plasma/oxy-fuel cutting table are installed at Morgan Steel, followed by a Accurpress 12 foot 250 ton press brake a few months later.
January 2019

Morgan Steel acquired a BLM LT8 tube laser and offered 3D laser cutting as an additional service.
September 2019

The company added CNC machining to its growing list of capabilities with the installation of a HAAS VF7/50 vertical mill.
December 2019

Morgan Steel expanded its sheet metal processing capacity with the addition of a Bystronic 10kw ByStar 4020 fiber laser and a Bystronic Xpert 80 press brake.
October 2020

Morgan Steel acquired a 220,000 square foot facility exclusively for metal fabrication and processing. Over the next few months, the company added two 12kw Bystronic ByStar 4020 fiber lasers and two more Bystronic press brakes.
October 2020

The company offered additional fabrication to customers with the acquisition of a robotic welding cell.
August 2021

Morgan Steel installed a second BLM LT8 tube laser to meet growing demand and continue to shorten lead times.
September 2021

The company continued to add laser capacity with the installation of a Bystronic 15kw ByStar 4020 fiber laser.

With strategically located facilities in Memphis and Texas, encompassing a vast expanse of approximately 450,000 square feet dedicated to warehousing and manufacturing, Morgan Steel stands poised to exceed expectations in meeting the needs of its valued clients.
